Noun. Overview
English March 26th, 2011
1. The noun is a part of speech that denote the object. It answer on questions "who is this?" or "what is this?". For example: who is this? - a man, a girl, an engineer; what is this? - a house, wheat, darkness, work.
2. Usually we use nouns with articles and prepositions: a table, the table, on the table, under the table.
3. Nouns have two numbers: a single (a table, a book) and a plural (tables, books) form.
4. Nouns have two cases: general (worker, father) and possessive (worker's, father's).

Perennial problem
English March 26th, 2011
Grammar is perennial problem. As my native languages are Belorusian and Russian, it's hard to me to build sentences according to the rules of English. So I decided to start learn grammar of English from beginning to end. Previously I studied grammar only fragmentary, but now I understand that without grammar I cannot write articles correctly (generally speaking, I dislike grammar). First I start from parts of speech. There are 9 parts of speech (the Noun, the Adjective, the Numeral, the Pronoun, the Verb, the Adverb, the Preposition, the Conjunction, the Interjection) in English. I selected the book "К.Н. Качалова, Е.Е. Израилевич Практическая грамматика английского языка" for my studies.
